New code and dataset release
Python package implementing our HiGRID direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation algorithm is available here. The acoustic impulse responses that we measured and reported in our TASLP paper are available on Zenodo.

IWAENC 2018 Sound Examples
The following tracks were obtained from a real recording of the pre-concert rehearsal of Nemeth Quartet at Erimtan Museum in Ankara, Turkey. The work is Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet Nr. 11, Op. 95. The reverberation time of the recital hall is 1.19 s. Since the building is architecturally protected with limited possibility to improve its acoustics, the recital hall has strong (untreated) lateral reflections.

IEEE/ACM TASLP paper accepted!
Our article “Multiple Sound Source Localization using Steered Response Power Density and Hierarchical Grid Refinement” has been accepted for publication in IEEE/ACM Transactions on Audio, Speech and Language Processing. We define a new steered response functional and use it to accurately find DoAs of multiple, possibly-coherent sources in acoustically challenging environments. METU II Research Day Awards, 2018
Two of our group members Ümit Eronat and Mert Burkay Çöteli received awards at METU II Research Day. Ümit’s work titled “A feasible way to synthesize soundscapes from arbitrary text” received the best poster award and Mert’s work entitled “Acoustic Source Separation using Rigid Spherical Microphone Arrays via Spatially Weighted Orthogonal Matching Pursuit” received a “Worthy of Mention” award. Congratulations to both!
